Network Marketing MLM Training - What is a Lead?

When it comes to making sales with your MLM program, you have to have people to talk to. In network marketing we tend to call those people either leads or prospects. Most marketers will use them interchangeable.
But what is a Lead?
A network marketing lead or a prospect is someone that has expressed the need for your MLM product or service.
When you got started in your MLM program, you may have been told that everyone had a need for your product/service. The fact of the matter is that even IF everyone could benefit by using your MLM product, not everyone will WANT your product. So, I guess the next question we should answer is:
How do you find Qualified Prospects?
Before we can answer that question, we first have to define your target market. Let's say that you belong to network marketing program whose main product helps people to lose weight. You may think that your target market is everyone that is overweight but that wouldn't be correct. Let's face it - not every overweight person wants to do what it takes to lose weight.
So, in this case, you may want to narrow your focus to people that are overweight and have done something to tell you that they want to lose weight. You can even take it further by looking at the age, and gender of your target market. Oh, and you probably want to make sure that they can afford your MLM product as well. Once you have defined who your target market is, then you can ask yourself "where" you find your qualified prospects.
As far as the "where" to get your leads go, you have a lot of options available to you. If you listen to the network marketing MLM training that your company provides you with, you will probably be asked to take some time to write a list of everyone that you know and then to go and share with those people what it is you are doing. This technique is usually okay at getting you one or two customers.
After you have prospected the people that you know, it's time to look for qualified prospects that you don't know. There are many options available to you to use both Online and Offline. You can go to trade shows where you may find your target market. You can set up a website and drive traffic that site. You can contact a lead broker and buy leads. There really way too many options to list them all here.
Finding qualified leads is only part of the equation for a successful home based business. There is a lot more to making sales than just talking to people. If you find yourself struggling to make sales, you may need more network marketing MLM training than your company can provide you.
